Position OverviewWebPros is seeking an experienced Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our team, manage United States & Canadian payroll, and lead the upcoming implementation of the UKG payroll system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll setup within UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) HRIS and payroll platforms, along with a comprehensive understanding of various other HRIS and payroll systems including Sage, ADP, and UltiPro/Ultimate.

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Payroll Specialist will be to own WebPros' end-to-end payroll process in the United States & Canada, serving as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all payroll-related matters within the region. This role will actively support global expansion initiatives in the Americas, while also playing a key role in shaping our processes for continued growth and the increasing complexities of payroll and benefits compliance. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will have the chance to make a significant impact, helping to shape the WebPros payroll function.

ResponsibilitiesPayroll System Implementation and Management:

• Collaborate with HR and IT teams to implement UKG HRIS and payroll system effectively.
• Set up payroll tools to support multi-state and global payroll operations effectively.

Compliance And Regulation

• Ensure compliance with state-specific payroll laws and regulations, with a focus on multi-state payroll experience.
• Manage payroll tax compliance at city, state, and federal levels.
• Prepare periodic payroll and financial reports for review by management, accounting, and auditing purposes.

Payroll Administration

• Administer benefits, garnishments, and 401k contributions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle both non-exempt and exempt payroll processes.
• Ability to accurately calculate and process bonus/commission payments accurately and on time.

Audit And Accuracy

• Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Reconcile/audit payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
• Assist with 401k, Workers’ Comp and Payroll audits.

Team Development And Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, implementations, and integrations related to payroll systems.
• Provide leadership in addressing complex payroll issues and resolving escalations, ensuring excellent customer service.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Education can be substituted for 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll management, preferably with experience in HRIS (UKG preferred) and payroll systems.
• Proficiency in various HRIS and payroll platforms including Sage, ADP, UltiPro/Ultimate, and/or Kronos.
• In-depth knowledge of state-specific payroll laws and regulations within US & Canada.
• Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance at city, state, and federal levels.
• Experience managing benefits, garnishments, and 401k contributions.
• Proven track record in payroll audit processes.
• Familiarity with both non-exempt and exempt payroll procedures.
• Ability to accurately calculate and process bonus/commission payments.
• Prior experience in setting up payroll tools for multi-state and global payroll operations.

POSITION DETAILSSalary range: $65,000 - $75,000

This will be a full-time, exempt position with medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), flexible PTO policy, and other employee perks. This position can be remote within the US (excluding NJ, DE, and IL). Houston, TX based employees have the option to work remotely, hybrid, or in-office.
